Ian Turns Seven!

Ian started first grade this year and has had a surprisingly large amount of homework and projects. Ian has risen magnificently to the occasion. His latest project was a poster board report on Jelly Fish. Ian checked out books from the library and read them to Matt and I. He then had to make a poster board with facts about Jelly Fish. Although I helped him with the gluing, this is truly Ian's work. I think its awesome and his teacher told me she thought so too! Ian is growing up so fast and with that in mind...

Seven years ago our little Earthquake, Ian, was born. No one could have looked forward to turning seven more than Ian. Since, as everyone knows, age directly correlates to speed of running, Ian has been looking to becoming one year older and faster too. As he has requested many times in the past Ian asked to do a Chuck E Cheese party. I'm not a fan of it, but since I've explained to the kids that there are no Chuck E Cheeses in Utah (where we will be moving this June) I suffered through one LAST Chuck E Cheese party.

I was very happy to find that Chuck E Cheese got rid of the rock star theme of their parties and changed it to a super hero theme. That's much more up my kids alley. Ian got a mask and cape as part of his party package. Ian had a huge turn out to his party. Despite four extra kids (siblings) showing up and a redneck mom ordering an extra pizza and putting it on my tab...it was a great party.

Ian had a Ninja Turtle themed party. Apparently ninja turtles is the "in" boy thing right now and Ian loves them. Even Miles knows all of their names. So naturally Ian picked out a Ninja Turtle cake, got lots of Ninja Turtle toys, and handed out Ninja turtle party bags.

The only people who could possibly enjoy the Chuck E Cheese party as much as Ian, naturally, are his brothers. Liam and Miles LOVE Chuck E Cheese too. Matt as usual was in charge of Miles. I was in charge of guarding the purses left at the party table. There aren't a lot of perks of being 39 + weeks pregnant at your sons birthday party, but a big bonus is that you get table guarding duty.

We were especially lucky that this year Matt's mom, Cyndie "Maga" was able to come out and is staying several weeks to help with the new baby. This means that she gets to be here for both Ian and Miles' birthdays. Ian was thrilled to have a grandma at his birthday party.

Despite having his crayon candles not wanting to light, we did eventually manage to get them aflame and Ian successfully blew them out.

Ian was happy to see Chuck E. The kid one table over became hysterical and refused to have anything to do with the large walking rat suit. I relate more to the kid one table over. Keep that rat away from me. It was a great party and Ian was thrilled. He and his brothers spent the rest of the day playing with all Ian's new toys and having a great time. Happy Birthday to my Ian. We love you so much and we look forward to your seventh year being even better then your last!
