The day after Thanksgiving there was much rejoicing in our household. We yanked out all the Christmas decorations and decked our halls. It can be a little challenging putting up decorations when you have so many so very eager helpers. Ian dressed as cat batman kept trying to stick ornaments on the tree before the branches were even attached.
He also insisted on sticking all the window clings on by himself.
Liam was mostly interested in dressing himself up as Santa although he liked helping with the Christmas tree. We set up the little people nativity (as we do every year) when Liam made a few subtle adjustments. He hunted down random other little people and piled them all around the nativity. We asked him what was going on and he responded, "They came to see baby Jesus". Just perfect.
Miles' main goal has been to try and knock down the Christmas tree. Even getting a phone call from Santa Claus on my cell phone has not deterred the constant barrage of toys being thrown at the tree.
About a week ago we had an activity where we made Christmas tree ornaments.
Liam made a snow man with a green scarf and top hat. Ian's had a red scarf and top hat.
Upon seeing Miles' snow man with its Cyclops eye (unfortunately had fallen off by the time we took this picture) it was proclaimed a monster snowman. Miles has repeatedly tried to destroy his creation, much like Dr. Frankenstein did his.
For Christmas this year I got a piano. It is an older piano (coming up on it's 100th birthday), but it feels like magic beneath my fingers and I have played it every day. Matt got dress blues (picture forth coming). Our house is filled with Christmas cheer and now...Christmas music too.
Piano is lovely. I hope is sounds as nice as it looks.
