This is The Place

This summer we decided to invest in a This Is The Place pass. The Zoo is starting to get really crowded and This is The Place still has a not too crowded feel. Besides it has quite a few free range play areas that make parents happy.

One of their favorite areas is the little play house area. It has a swing rope, a tone of child play houses, and a wooden play train.

The kids had a blast running around singing the Indiana Jones theme music while swinging on the rope.

Naturally they all had to climb on the train. Even more naturally Matt held the train up.

Ellie insisted on following her brothers into the train which caused me a great deal of panic since she was in constant danger of falling out, down, and over everything in that wooden train.

There is also a water fountain play area. This was a blessed relief in the midst of the summer heat.

Their is a miniature train there that all the kids wanted to ride, a boat they could explore and it looked like they were building a fancier Native American Village. The boys made some paper canoes and panned for gold in the creek.

  1. You can tell how hot it is by Ellie's reaction to the mist.
