Matt had bought little chairs the right size for a mouse.
A saucer chair that was like a puppy,
for my Miles to use and my little E E.
Liam tried to use them but he was far too large,
and tumbled out like an unwieldy barge.
Our pajamas were opened with plenty of care,
Angry Bird PJ's for each, none had to share.
We watched the Muppet's Christmas Carol and ate lots of treats,
the kind of Christmas eve that's hard to beat.
The kids went to bed really fast
We told them if they didn't Santa would fly past
That night as they nestled in their beds
And dreams of Chocolate coins danced in their heads
Matt and I stayed up watching Holiday Rifftrax with Dingwall till quite late
Enjoying the feelings of the Christmas date
When Christmas morning came the kids were all up at about six in the morning. They could hardly contain their excitement. They went through their stockings in record time and within twenty minutes had opened every present. Ian kept Sting closeby all day and wisely never removed his One Ring. Liam made several attempts to remove it exclaiming that it was his precious, but Ian hit him with his sword and managed to fend him off.
Liam was thrilled with everyone's presents not just his own. You can see in the background the present Matt and I were most excited about....a super cool popcorn maker that we are willing to use whenever someone visits us. (Becky and Mom I hope you're excited).
Miles spent a lot of time just clambering around boxes and wadding up wrapping paper.
Ian's sword does glow blue, I believe Miles was the Orc in question. You can also see one of Liam's favorite presents here...a Garagamel and Azrael set that he put up on top of the laundry basket.
Ahh the magnificence of the Christmas aftermath.
Liam pulling out Clayface. It didn't take him long to realize that Clayface could canabalize other imaginext heros and villains. He and Ian really enjoyed that.
Miles really loved his Little People Buzz with rocket ship.
Liam playing with Gargamel and Azrael.
Miles was quite eager for his mega blocks as well.
Matt and the boys played with the castle set for quite some time. The ogre and dragon ate a lot of knights, and eventually Gargamel and King Kong were pulled in to help storm the castle.
The castle stretches out pretty long which is handy when three little boys and their dad all want to play with it.
How do kids sit in that position for long periods of time?
Liam set up a tableu featuring an old Rex attempting to eat Hawkman. Don't worry his brand-new remote control gorilla is defending (aka King Kong).
For dinner we had turkey. Liam polished off both turkey legs.
Ian had to be forcibly fed turkey, but ate several rolls.
Miles threw his food onto my shirt.
The next day after the decorations were down we pulled out the really awesome castle tent.
It was huge and had two towers one for Princess Liam and one for Sir Ian.
They even set up the saucer chairs inside.
Christmas was fabulous. It included a full day of preoccupied children who neither requested electronics are fought with each other. Matt and I greatly enjoyed the kids enthusiasm and appreciated all the presents that came from relatives.
Rob: thanks for the gift cards just so you know, you got Liam the Gargamel/Azrael set, Remote Control Gorrilla, and a mini Jurrassic park style dinosaur set. You got Ian an ocean whale/shark set, and the Hobbit sting set. You got Miles the castle tent and a Little People Woody/RC. The kids will later this next week be getting new shoes as well.
Grandma Sanderson: With your Christmas money we got an awesome microscope and planetarium set. The kids are stoked for our upcoming science activities thank you!
Cyndie: Thanks a ton for decking the kids out in new school clothes and winter apparel. It's been mostly in the thirtys and fortys here so it was much needed.
Mom: The kids have been devoured several times by your awesome animal blankets, they're a big hit.
Claire: There is no pain and suffering in the world to compare to with what we went through while watching the Star Wars Holiday Special you sent us, thanks for that.
Lots of love to all our family!
May the Star Wars Holiday Special ever be part of your Life Day tradition!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see your children got plenty of toys to play with and may never be exposed to Bea Arthur singing.
Children make Christmas fun.
