As Matt and I slowly waited for discharge to happen on Sunday the boys were home with Maga busily preparing for Ellie's homecoming. They cleaned the house, showered and dressed in their Sunday best so Ellie would be impressed when she came home. Liam went so far as to clean his own bedroom, by himself, and rearrange his furniture. He continued on to sweeping the living room because he knew Ellie wouldn't want to come home to a messy house.
All the kids wanted to hold her, help change her, and help feed her. Ellie had a temporary 24 hours of supplemental bottle feeding until my breast milk came in. The result was that Miles got to help feed her one day and then by the following was baffled by the fact that it was no longer possible nor advisable for him to help feed his sister.
Every morning the boys want to see Ellie first thing. When they come home each one wants to know where she is and if she is okay. The run fetch diapers, want to entertain her, kiss her, rock her in her bassinet, and love it when she opens her eyes to look at them. Ellie came home to a house full of rambunctious and truly loving brothers.
That last picture is the cutest!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have all that help and entertainment for her.
ReplyDeleteLiam was hilarious about his room. It was amazing to see how very gentle and loving to their sister.
