Birthday and a Masters

As everyone has heard at least a dozen times now, I finished my Masters. Just to drive the point home one more time...hey look I graduated and here's a diploma to prove it!
At the very end of August Liam turned nine years old. It's a little  hard for me to believe it but this is his last year in single digits. I tried to convince Liam to let me throw him a party at home but he was adamant that he wanted a Chuck-E-Cheese birthday party. So naturally he got one.
This is, of course, a big hit with all three of my boys.
We were lucky enough to have Aunt Heather in time for the party. She was a huge help in keeping track of our three excited little monsters.
Liam's favorite game was one where you drove around shooting gigantic bugs. One of his friends, Dayton, loved the game just as much as he did.

The newest Chuck E Cheese party includes a balloon that is an electric guitar that you can play during the birthday song. Liam got a pretty big kick out that.
Liam picked out his birthday cake. He wanted one that looked like the beach. He didn't want any characters on it or anything to ruin the beach scene. Matt and I think its a not so subtle reminder to our promise to take him to Corpus Christi this October.
The other kids were super enthusiastic about Chuck E Cheese. Liam was only sort of okay with him being around. In fact Liam kept trying to take him by the hand and force him to leave the party.
Naturally the ticket blaster was the favorite activity of all. Liam and Ian didn't quite grasp the concept and kept brushing the tickets off of themselves. As they climbed out Ian picked two off the ground and said, "Here Liam, one for you and one for me." It was pretty cute. All and all the party was a huge hit and Liam had a wonderful time; which is the most important thing of all.

  1. Nice diploma! I always like the pictures of the boys, they grow and change pretty fast.
