The night before Easter we dyed Easter Eggs. Cyndie was very amused by the fact that I blow Easter eggs and hollow them out to dye as well as hard boil eggs. The boys had a really great time plopping eggs in dye.
Liam was interested for a full five minutes, and Miles for thirty seconds. Ian stuck it out to the end. We had the most fun drawing random things on the eggs with a white wax crayon. Ian picked such sketches as a bat, a bone, a bird, and of course every boy had their name on an egg.
We had a lovely dinner that Matt made. Although ham is not my favorite, it was really sweet that Matt made Easter dinner. I did make the deviled eggs.
Matt made the centerpiece for the table as well. He gathered spinach, parsley, rosemary, and rosebuds from our garden and put the hollowed eggs with the boys names on them on top. It looked so lovely.
Everyone really enjoyed Easter dinner. Liam is a carnivore so he liked eating ham and eggs. Ian liked eating bread. Miles enjoyed wadding food up and throwing it on the floor. Cyndie likes ham so Matt had a ham ally.
After dinner we had our Easter egg hunt. It was over eighty degrees outside. Something I had not taken into account when I had hidden the eggs before dinner. All the chocolate had melted and had to be put into the freezer.
Miles was more interested in finding eggs to throw at things.
Ian was beside himself with excitement at finding Easter eggs, but was struggling to find them before Liam got them all.
Liam's theory was that the sooner you found the eggs, the sooner you could go back in side. I hid thirty six eggs outside; Liam grabbed twenty-four of them.
The boys all had a great time. All the candy was dumped into a bowl and put in the freezer to share later.
The two older boys were emphatic in expressing how much they enjoyed Easter, and Miles imitated them. We had a great Easter and it was made all the better for having Cyndie here to enjoy it with us(the best mother-in-law a girl could ask for). So here's to the first Easter Sunday that Matt has had since we moved to Fort Hood, and consequently the best Easter we've had in years.

Sounds like fun!! Our Easter Bunny is a cheapstake who waited till after the Monday candy sales to visit.
