A Little Bit on Liam's Life

A few weeks ago Liam was invited to the birthday party of Joshua, a little boy from Liam's school. Joshua also has autism and the two of them are best friends. Liam only mentions two children from his classroom Daisy and... you guessed Joshua. At school, his teacher informs me, Liam and Joshua play together all the time. I was delighted to witness it first hand. Upon seeing each other the two boys shouted each others names, held hands and ran around Chuck E Cheese like little spastic maniacs.
Liam is the undeniable leader of this dynamic duo. He led Joshua (cute guy in the orange t-shirt) around to all of his favorite things. They rode the carosel numerous times (until Joshua got bored and ran off).
Liam then proceeded to catch Joshua and drag him to his favorite game the Jurrasic Park game. Joshua didn't know how to play it, but was pretty happy to sit and have Liam boss him around and continuously feed coins into his slot. Eventually Joshua wandered off again and Liam ran after him saying "Joshua, Where are you going? Come play dinosaurs!"

Joshua insisted that Liam sit right next to him at the table. Joshua picked at his pizza and Liam ate tons of it. The cake was a smurf cake which Liam was really jazzed about. Occasionally while the birthday song was being sung, Joshua would stick his finger in some of the frosting, which was pretty funny.

When Joshua went into the ticket blaster he was allowed to bring one person. When asked who wanted to come in he screamed, "LIAM!" So the two of them headed in. Since they both have issues with auditory sensitivity, they both covered their ears.
Liam had a wonderful time at Joshua's party and it really enjoyed being with his friend. It is the first birthday party he's been invited to since his friend Brayden moved to Fort Lewis, Washington. We will definitely have to have Joshua come to Liam's party this summer.
On a side note Liam has finally managed to acquire the complete cub-scout accessory set. He conned Maga into getting him the Wolf baseball cap and I got him his belt since he has earned two belt loops already. Thanks to everyone who has sent him postcards for his collection project. Liam is very close to earning his Wolf.

  2. There is nothing sweeter than little best friends! And it sounds like Liam is rocking his way through cub scouts!
