Ian's school was holding a costume Halloween Carnival. Unfortunately this carnival did not allow masks. So instead of my kids wearing their costumes without a mask...they got to wear different costumes. If you struggle to know what they are, here is the breakdown: Liam is a generic cowboy, Ian is Fix it Felix, and Miles is Wreck it Ralph.
The kids had a good time at the school carnival. It was a small scale sort of deal. It had some games, a craft, and some bounce houses. The kids, of course, loved it.
For Halloween itself the kids all had different costumes; because why not? Miles went as Spiderman, Ian was Ironman, Liam was a gorilla, and Ellie was an angry cat. (Mostly angry because she didn't want to wear her costume).
Trick or treating in my parent's neighborhood was a lot of fun. One family was giving out cotton candy, one family was making fresh donuts, one family was cooking up hot dogs, more than one family was giving a can of soda. It made for a really big change from the sparse trick or treating from our years in Texas.
