Our first full day back in Utah was also the Burnett Family Reunion. Every one of my siblings and their families made the trip out to Utah to participate in a week long activity extravaganza. Each of us kids and our parents took one day and planned a fun activity. Monday was Aunt Laura and Uncle Dirk's day and she picked Thanksgiving Point. We couldn't have been happier with her choice. Thanksgiving Point has always been a family favorite for us and the boys were thrilled to go for the first time in several years. There was even a brand new museum there, The Museum or Natural Curiosity, which turned out to be the best kid's museum we've ever been to.
On Tuesday we played fat bat and got our family pictures taken (This was the Grandma Jamie day). On Wednesday we spent the day at the really awesome Recreation Center in Bountiful. We played on the water slides and had fabulous time. (Planned by Aunt Claire and Uncle Lee)
Thursday (planned by Uncle Daniel and Aunt Julie) we went up to Mirror Lake and went fishing. This was of course a huge success.
The scenary was stunning, The weather only in the 70's that high up and the day simply beautiful.
There some kayaks too and all the boys took turns rowing out into the lake. They had a blast!
Each boy got a turn to try and catch a fish. None of them managed a fish, but they all got to hold the pole. As it turns out, that's all they actually cared about.
Ellie was tired and mostly exhausted me by screaming the whole time.
On Friday (planned by Aunt Becky and Uncle Allen) we went to This is the Place Monument. There are so many fun things to do there and it is a really unique place to go. The kids had a blast!
They got to ride the miniature train, eat ice cream, play games, ride ponies, and hang out with their cousins.
There was even an area for them to pan for gold, which they thought was pretty awesome.
Naturally by the end of the day they were more then ready to go home.
On Saturday we relaxed in the morning and then in the evening we went to Muller Park and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. (Planned by Uncle Garrett and Aunt Sarah). The very last activity of the week was on Sunday and planned by us. This involved the baby blessing of our very own Ellie. Her blessing included:
She was given the name of Elaina Mary Sanderson..."bless you at this time to know and remember your pioneer heritage both in the past and present...as you grow up in the church...so will your love for service and dedication to the church...as you grow spiritually...you will be a missionary to those around you. At some point you will be married in the temple..." It was a beautiful blessing given to her by her devoted loving father Matthew. All of our family came. All of mine was there and all of Matt's. It was lovely.
