The last Texas New Year!

New Years in our family involves food, a movie, a toast and then bed. This tradition is firmly upheld and has thus far included one minor detail that our children are unaware of...we tell them its the New Year at around 8 or 8:30PM because neither Matt nor I want to stay up until midnight. The boys were again allowed to pick out one treat a piece to share. Liam picked (surprise surprise) chips and cheese dip, Ian picked out (try not to be shocked) Ritz crackers and easy cheese, and Miles picked out vanilla wafers which he didn't have to share because nobody else likes them. The boys watched Phineas and Ferb (per their request) until "the New Year" when we toasted it in with goblets and instead of Martinelli's, a delicious sugar free drink (sorry pregnant mom can't drink that much sugar) which none of the kids particularly liked, but gamely drank because it was in a goblet. Well farewell to 2014 and welcome to 2015 a New Year where we look forward to the new addition of little Ellie, a cross country move to Utah, new schools, jobs, and a break from being a military family for the first time in six years. So cheers to the New Year. I look forward to all our great adventures for 2015!
