Gingerbread is a family favorite. Growing up, ginger snaps were a common snack staple (as was ginger ale) and my grandfather loves cooking with ginger in just about everything. Naturally the kids grew to like gingerbread and when you couple their taste for gingerbread with their enjoyment of the story of the little man that comes to life and runs away from everyone (Liam loves THAT; no one likes a chase story/scene as much as Liam) and is chased by a herd of hungry animals and people, you have an activity that all of them enjoy. Unfortunately Liam, unusually worn out actually fell asleep and had to wait to do his ginger bread man until the following morning.
Here is Ian decorating one of his cookies.
Miles mostly wanted to eat his cookie but with mom's help, decorated it as well.
Here is Ian posing with his gingerbread man, saying "Run, run, as fast as you can!"
Miles posed with his too and then promptly ate it.
The next morning was Sunday, and we decided that instead of vegging to some TV show, we would pull out the puzzles as a family and work on them. The kids loved it and showed they were pretty adept at putting them together.
